I had to get my birth certificate re-issued and it took a couple days. A sitting Senator could probably get one in an hour.
Providing a digitized image of a piece of paper with the certificate number blacked out, with the statement that any alteration invalidates the certificate smells bad.
Barack’s defense on his Fight the Smears website is weaker still:
"Smears claiming Barack Obama doesn’t have a birth certificate aren’t actually about that piece of paper — they’re about manipulating people into thinking Barack is not an American citizen."
No Barack, it really is about ‘that piece of paper’. You should know this as a Constitutional law professor. Just produce it, and allow access to the hospital records, and this one is all behind you.
This could get interesting.

On the "certificate" is used a strange word for the "father's race".
As a former cop, I am used to seeing both birth certificates and other forms of official documents, but this is the first time I've ever seen race listed as "African".
One might think that as normal today, and it might be, but remember that political correctness was not in vogue back in 1961, so the more common "Negro" would likely have been used.
Something's not right here.
