But this one is a professor at Berkeley. He’s into potatoes too. He estimates that one acre of potatoes can feed 10 people on the low side, and 36 people on the extreme high side. Backing up my conclusion of 16 people per acre, or 3,000 s.f. of potatoes per person. But he had to do his analysis in meters, instead of feet, because he works at Berkeley.
Tonight I learned that it takes 8 pound of feed to produce 1 pound of animal meat. It takes half that for birds. So grow some extra for the pigs.
